In 1914 , the first train opearted
between Baghdad, Sameka, and AL-Digil.
In 1920 , the first train opearsted between Baghdad, and Basrah.
In 1925 , the first train opearsted between Baghdad, and Karkuk
In 1940 , the first train opearsted between Baghdad, and Mosul.
On 15th ,july 1940 , the first train opearsted between Baghdad, and
Hayder Basha "Istanbul" ,Turkey.
On September ,1916 A railway Administrator was formed in iraq under
British Military control.
On .1 April 1920 , the administration was transfered from military
to british civil administration.
On 16th ,APRIL 1936 The iraqi goverment Railways was transfered to
the iraqi goverment this date represnt the anniversary day to the
Railway.
The foundation stone for International Station was lain in AL-Karkh,
Baghdad in 1948 and the building was completed in 1952 .
In 1967 teh first train was operated between Baghdad and Basrah on
the new standard gauge line.
